How to Reset a User's Password in Acre Access Control
How to Reset a User's Password
If a staff member forgets their password to log into the Acre Access Control Cloud dashboard, you can quickly get them back into the system. For security purposes, you will not be able to see their old password. Instead, you will assign them a temporary password and prompt the system to ask them for a new one the next time they log in.
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Log into your dashboard: Open your web browser and go to aac.acresecurity.cloud.
-
Find the user: Locate the staff member who needs a password reset. You can find them by searching in your People List widget on your dashboard or by navigating to the People tab in the main menu.
-
Open their profile: Click on the staff member's name to open their user profile.
-
Locate the account settings: Scroll down to the section where their user account and login credentials are managed.
-
Set a temporary password: Type a new, simple temporary password into the password field.
-
Require a password change: Find the toggle switch labeled Require password change on next login (or similar wording) and turn it on. This is a crucial step to ensure the staff member's account remains secure.
-
Save your changes: Click the Save button to apply the new settings to their profile.
-
Notify the staff member: Reach out to the staff member and provide them with the temporary password. Let them know that as soon as they log in with it, the system will immediately prompt them to create a new, private password.
Troubleshooting Tip
If the staff member mentions that their temporary password is not working, double-check that they are logging in at the correct web address (aac.acresecurity.cloud) and verify that you clicked Save after updating their profile.
